Snout&About is a podcast episode I co-created with a partner, where we visited the Wood County Humane Society to explore important topics like spaying and neutering pets and the “adopt, don’t shop” movement. I was involved in every stage of the episode’s production, from planning and scripting the visit to recording interviews and capturing footage. Additionally, I handled the video editing, ensuring the final episode was engaging, informative, and visually polished. This project allowed me to combine storytelling, research, and technical skills to create content that educates and inspires listeners while highlighting the work of local animal welfare organizations. Building on this foundation, Snout&About dives deeper into the real-world impact of animal welfare through firsthand storytelling and thoughtful production choices. During our visit, we focused on capturing authentic moments—from candid interactions with staff to the environments where animals are cared for, to create a genuine and immersive viewing experience. I paid close attention to pacing, audio clarity, and visual storytelling in the editing process, weaving together interviews, b-roll footage, and key informational segments to maintain both emotional resonance and educational value. By emphasizing clear messaging around responsible pet ownership and adoption, the episode not only informs viewers but also encourages them to reflect on their own role in supporting animal welfare initiatives.
